In response to formal communication from CBAG a meeting was held with
The Co-op who have now clarified their position:
1) Co-operative Farms is one of the country’s largest farmers
and owns and manages around
50,000 acres using exemplary biodiversity programmes such as habitat
heroes http://www.co-operative.coop/farms/habitatheroes/ There is no
expectation that badger culls will take place on land managed by the
Co-operative and nor would they be supported.
2) We can also confirm that none of the Co-operative Dairy Group
farmers who provide us with a dedicated supply of own-brand milk are
located in the proposed cull zones.
3) We will explain this position more clearly in all future
correspondence.
